Our Little Talker

Rachel loves to talk... don't know where she gets that from! She had just been hitting her hand against her head and saying "Oh No!" but then she just started talking. I don't know what she said, but she sure did!

McCollum Visit

We had a nice relaxing visit with the McCollum's when they came to help put the swing set together. It was pretty nasty weather so we stayed in most of the weekend.

Grandma and Papa loved listening to Rachel's story... she was so into it!

Rachel liked Daddy's old work hat!

"This one right here, Papa!"

Grandma found a great deal on a windbreaker jacket for Rachel (she got it big so she could wear it next year)

Rachel loves to take things in and out of containers now.

She also likes to pull her phone around the house.

"I'll miss you, Grandma and Papa... come back soon!"

New Swingset!

Rachel has a new favorite toy! She got a swing set! It was delivered last weekend and she was so excited that she had to play on it. :)

The back yard 2 days ago...
And the back yard today! It was pretty chilly today, so she didn't go play on it today but hopefully it will warm up soon so she can enjoy it.

We didn't have school yesterday, so Dustin told his students that if they weren't busy, they could come over hand help him build a swing set, not really expecting anyone to come... well 10am on their day off, 4 kids come over and start helping! 2 of them are boy scouts so they just jumped right in sorting wood and getting everything ready. Dustin's parents came in town so his dad could help put everything together. They got in about 10:45, and by 7 last night, the set was up!

Gorgeous Day

Last Saturday was absolutely GORGEOUS! We decided to take advantage and go to a park to let Rachel play on all the fun stuff. I love the fact that she is now able to climb in tunnels and go down slides and really enjoy the playground. Of course she still needs a lot of help, but she absolutely loves it. I know she's a smiley kid anyway, but I don't think she stopped smiling the whole time we were there!
Scooting through the tunnel

Daddy had to help her climb up one of the tunnels... I think he enjoyed himself too!

She made it through the flat ones all by herself though!

She LOVED this slide... Mommy would wait at the bottom to help her off, then she'd walk back over to where Daddy was, he would help her up, up the ramp she ran, then back down the slide again. I think she did that about 10 times (doesn't sound like much, but for such little legs, it took a while!)

Come on, guys, let's go play some more!

I take it back, the smile disappeared when we had to leave... she sure did sleep well that night, though. :) I can't wait until the summer so we can go there more!

Blakes' 3rd Birthday

We had such a good time for Blake's birthday. It was a lot of fun spending some time with all the extended family. We spent the afternoon at Kim's parents house for the family birthday party.

The happy Birthday Boy!

Blake is all about trucks and construction stuff, so he had a construction themed party.

He got a bike!

Rachel and Megan talking about something while eating. They did share their food with each other- so cute!

Rachel, Eva, and Megan. They are all within 6 months of each other, so it was really fun watching them play together!

A room full of family!

The birthday boy with his Mom, Dad and little sister!

We love you, Blake and can't wait to see you again!

Weekend in Chesapeake

We went to Chesapeake for Blake's birthday this past weekend. Here are some pics of our kids. (I'm still working on my goal of having pictures of adults.)

Rachel was not really really ready to wake up from her nap. So Alli kept her company for a few minutes while she woke up.

Sweet little Alli!

Blake's great smile!

It was BEAUTIFUL on Saturday, so we had our lunch outside. The dog's parked it by Rachel waiting for a piece of something to come their way.

Millie waited until Rachel gave in!

Blake and Brent playing in the sand. (Blake wanted to match his Daddy!)

Rachel wasn't so sure of the sand at first, but she got into it eventually!

Hugs goodbye! They're such sweet cousins.

Mommy's Little Helper

Rachel has really started helping us out around the house lately. She puts clothes into the dryer, shuts the door and even pushes the button to start it! We just have to be careful, because she has tried to put the dogs toys in a few times too. She really likes folding- actually, it's more like she takes what we have just folded and shakes them out. (I guess she sees us shake the folds out of everything!) She loves helping unload the dishwasher, which makes me more than a little nervous. She will just bring a plate right over to me while I'm putting the silverware away! And of course, she will answer the phone if it's available to her. (By the way, she is actually talking to Dustin's mom in the above picture)

Cheap Fun

Who needs toys when you have a Cheerios box? Rachel brought the box to Dustin and he knew just what to do with it! She had a great time just walking around with it.
