Beach Baby

We went down to the Bay one day while visiting my parents. I had actually never been there before, but really enjoyed it. There weren't many people there, the water was calm, shallow and warm! Of course Rachel loved it too- that's my girl!

Kayaking with Daddy! (Don't worry, the Kayak is nearly impossible to flip over, the water was calm and only about 4 feet deep... Mom and I were right there too!)

Kayaking with Poppy... a girl after his own heart!

Dolphin Cruise

We went on a dolphin watching cruise as part of our anniversary trip. We saw quite a few dolphins, but they were pretty hard to catch on camera. I did get this video though. There was a kid next to us "calling" the dolphins... so cute!

The next day we were at the beach and saw the boat sitting offshore. We saw a few dolphins around it, then something huge jump out of the water... a whale! They usually aren't around this time of year, but the guide had said that there had been sightings lately.

Happy Father's Day!

Rachel finger painted a picture for her Daddy for Father's Day this year. I lined the floor with construction paper and let her go! She looked a little confused at first, but it didn't take long for her to get into it!

Happy Father's Day!

Dedication Passage

Rachel was dedicated at Church on Sunday, June 6, 2010. It was such a special time for our family and we were excited that both sets of our parents were able to make it to support us and Rachel. The video is quite long, but I wanted to be able to share all of the parts of the dedication with family and friends that live far away and were unable to be there in person. The first part was a scripture reading that the whole church participated in. Then Ms. Robin, the preschool director, called each family up individually and Pastor prayed for each child. The final part was when all the families came to the front of the church and we were given a "charge" of what our role as parents and families are to our kids. The church was given a charge to support the families too. Thanks to Lindsey for taking video for us, and Amanda for taking pictures. (I will put the pictures up tomorrow)
Psalm 139 13-18
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.

"Mama"

Rachel has been making lots of sounds for a while now. She finally said "Mama" on Sunday at dinner. I know she doesn't have the meaning behind it, but I'll still take it!
(She gave a little something extra at 59 seconds... listen closely!)
