Thanksgiving

What a wonderful Thanksgiving we had this year.  It was a little strange because we usually run out of school on Wednesday and drive to Chesapeake and visit/relax then pack up and run home Sunday after church.  Although it was always a great time, it was nice this year to not have to travel so much!  It was a little weird not cooking and preparing with my mom though...

We had a wonderful lunch at Papa Joe and Baba's house again- 14 adults and 7 kids 3 tables all lined up and a great buffet!  Just because I want to remember...
Dustin, me, Rachel, Gavin
Mom, Dad
Brent, Kim, Blake, Allison
Jim and Sandra Brown (Kim's parents)
Aunt Caroline and Gigi (Kim's great aunt and grandmother)
Joe, Jen, Erin, Anna, Megan (Kim's sister and her family)
Papa Joe and "Baba" Barbara (Joe's parents)

It was great food and even better time relaxing and enjoying extended family!

Mom, Kim and I have made it a tradition to go Black Friday shopping.  Well, this year since all the sales started on Thursday night Kim said she would sit it out, but Mom and I couldn't pass up Target.  Right before we left, Kim called and said she was caving in to the pressure and wanted to come too!  So we waited outside in the cold for a little while before the doors opened, then went in with the rest of the crazies!  It was nothing like what you saw on TV, (we went to the Hickory Target) people were actually really friendly and smiling.  People were even helping each other out trying to find stuff!  Kim may or may not have found what she was looking for sitting in a random spot by itself and picked it up... we are pretty sure that it was abandoned and she didn't take it away from anyone!  I found a great gift for my dad too- I'm pretty excited about it anyway!

1st Haircut!

Gavin's hair has been getting a bit shaggy lately, so we decided to finally have it cut.  It's so hard with little boys because it really makes them look less like little babies, and I'm not so sure I'm ready for that!
We went to Cheryl's, who happened to cut my hair some during college and who did my hair for our wedding.  I joked with her that she's making her way in family photos... and here she is!

Her daughter was there to keep him occupied with cheerios, since he kept trying to turn around to see what Cheryl was doing!

Cousin Fun

Brent and Kim went somewhere one night this week and asked us if we could watch their kids for them for a little bit.  I love that we are able to help each other out like that now!

Two little princesses!

We were only missing Millie (Brent and Kim's dog) here!

Hanging out in the bear tent in the living room!

Can't wait to do it again

Halloween

So this is the first year that Rachel was pretty excited about Halloween.  She didn't understand the concept of it before-hand, but caught on pretty quickly!  She really is into Jake and the Neverland Pirates, so she decided she wanted to be a Pirate.  I did some "research"  (aka, I searched all over Pinterest) and found a way to make a cute little pirate skirt.  Yea for the Dollar Tree for other accessories!
Gavin on the other hand is probably going to hate me for the outfit that I put him in!  But really, how can you not smile looking at him?

She was sooo excited that she got to wear make-up!

Not so sure about all this!

Alli was intrigued by the pumpkin

They really were happier than this picture makes them out to be

What cuties!
