No News

I went to the doctor yesterday as a follow up from my ultra sound on my gall bladder the other week. He said that nothing looked unusual. They said that doesn't mean that there's not a problem, but there's nothing to do about it right now. So I will go back in 6 months if I am still feeling like this. I was a little upset that I sat in the office for 2 hours for them to tell me that, but I'm glad that I know that it's nothing major.
I am feeling better overall, but I still have pain. Of course Rachel is getting bigger now, so she is kicking me in the ribs- thanks!

photos

When we were in Chesapeake last week, we asked dad to take us to have family pictures done. So we headed down to the beach and had a little photo shoot! (This is where the photo at the top of the page came from) Thanks, Dad!

What a great looking couple!

Dustin thought it would be fun to give me a hard time about how I sit!

28 Weeks!

Wow, I can't believe we're at 28 already! This past Friday I had a doctor's appointment. I actually saw a different doctor this time. They are putting me on a small rotation in case Rachel decides to come when my doctor is not on call.
This week has been pretty productive! I put some "big" clothes away and have sorted out the smaller ones. I also cleaned out a cabinet and put away bottles, bowls and some sippy cups! The next step is to clean out the bathroom cabinet...

A fun visit!

We had such a fun week with Brent, Kim and Blake this week. They all came over on Monday afternoon. We just hung out a little that night and after Blake was in bed, Brent and Kim left for a day trip. So Dustin and I had Blake for the night and the next day... I was so excited! He did great for us. We took him to the mall and spoiled him a little bit. Lunch at Chick-fil-A, then on to Build-a-Bear! He helped make a dog since every kind of animal is "doggie" (he liked stepping on the pedal to put the stuffing into the dog). Then we played in the little play area for a few minutes!
On Wednesday we had a good time just spending time together. Brent and Dustin are a little crazy I think... Brent wanted to go for a run on some trails by the star so Dustin took his bike and they rode/ran up to the top of the mountain.
The only bad part of the visit was the fact that I had class on Monday and Wednesday nights, so I had to leave all the fun. :-(
I can't believe we didn't take any pictures!

Go Zoe!

We are so proud that Zoe overcame her fear of the pool and jumped in! She actually got a little too excited and jumped in with the solar cover on one time. Luckily it didn't rip and she wasn't hurt!
I love that her tail still curled, even in flight!

Look at the ears!

(Make sure the volume is turned up to watch the video)

She was a little exhausted on the way home!

27 Weeks

A little bit of a change of scenery this week. We were at the beach and decided to take the weekly photo there. I have been feeling better this week. Rachel keeps moving more and more! She especially likes it when I am settling down for bed! She also likes it when Dustin holds my belly. She'll roll and kick and play with him... I love it!

Baby Shower in Virginia Beach

We have been blessed with a great extended family in Virginia Beach. So Kim's brother-in-law's mom threw this shower for us. It was fun to get together with family and church friends. A few of Mom's coworkers from Hickory were able to come too. We were excited for Rachel to get some more cute outfits, her mattress, diaper bag and a lot of other goodies!

I was excited that Grandma was able to be in town for the shower.

Dad sent a gift just from him!

I love the beautiful dress that Grandma gave Rachel. She is going to be so cute!

Aunt Bonnie sent a Precious Moments doll that says a prayer... love it!

Love the cute outfit and diaper bag from Kim.

Now Rachel has something to sleep on!

We are blessed to have so many people that care about us!

Zoe was a little confused with all the stuff! She wanted to see what it was all about.

Surprise Grandma Shower

A few weeks ago, one of Mom's coworkers called Kim and said that they wanted to throw a "grandma shower" for Mom. They are a very close knit group and wanted to do something special for her!

The hard part was trying to get Mom from work and delay until her coworkers could get to the restaurant before us... not to mention talking her into going to the same restaurant! So on Thursday, Grandma, Kim and I headed over to her work so I could meet everyone, that was easy. Then Mom's boss told us to go out and take our time for a fun lunch. We just told Mom that there was some restaurant that Brent had been talking about and we'd like to try- she went for it! Then to waste some time I said that I needed gas and I should really get it before lunch. We did it!

The shower was great and Mom got a few brag books, grandma books, and bibs to keep at her house. Rachel got some cute outfits, blankets, and bath supplies!

A busy week!

This past week has been a pretty busy one for us. We had a yard sale (thanks Mom and Dad N. for helping!), Grandma and Grandpa Nieter here for a visit, then we were off to Chesapeake for a baby shower! We had a great time and have tons of pictures. I will do my best to get some up tomorrow before Brent, Kim and Blake come to visit for the week.

26 Weeks

What a week! I went to the doctor on Friday and she said that Rachel's heartbeat is strong and everything looks and sounds great! I talked with her about the pain that I've had under my rib. She said that it could be my gall bladder so she set up an ultrasound for me for next Monday morning. Then I will meet with a surgeon the week after. It is just precautionary, but she'd rather have me meet someone so if there is a problem later, I will already have someone who knows about my situation. The other possibility besides gall bladder, is that my ribs are shifting. Rachel is pushing up on all my insides which is making my ribs expand some. This would explain why I hurt more when I sit and after I eat too. I guess we'll find out in a few weeks!

The doctor's appointments are now every 2 weeks now that I'm in my 3rd trimester. Ahh! We're getting closer!!!

25 Weeks

The countdown is now down to double digits! In a way 98 days seems so long, but 3 months does not!

Not the best week that I've had... this whole gall bladder issue is kinda kicking my rear end at the moment. I do great in the mornings, but by the end of the day I usually end up just laying down to get some relief. (Makes for an interesting time during my evening class!) I have been watching my diet and think I have been doing well, but it doesn't really seem to matter if I eat pizza or fruit and veggies. I have a doctor's appointment this Friday to do the glucose test, so maybe she'll have more advice for me.

Something fun though is that Rachel is moving tons! I love being able to feel her little arm or leg moving up the middle of my belly. She had a lot of fun playing with her daddy a couple days ago. Dustin would poke me and she hit or kicked back.

ALVIN!!!!

I was so excited to go check on the garden today... until I found our cucumber with bite marks... no, it wasn't Zoe, it was a chipmunk! Our neighbor had been having problems with them eating his strawberries, but I guess I was hoping they'd get full over there and not bother us... I was wrong! Not real sure what to do now!?

24 Weeks

Even though the post is late, the picture was taken (almost) on time... just didn't get it loaded until today! This week was a busy and HOT one! I had to take a lot of breaks while walking around DC. I kept my water bottle with me and drank a bunch too.

At the end of the week I started to get a small numb spot near my ribcage on the right side. Saturday night it was no longer numb, it just hurt! I could not get comfortable and was pretty misreable. I figured it was from traveling so much combined with the fact that Rachel is getting bigger and maybe she was sitting on a nerve or something. By Tuesday it was not any better, so I called the Dr. and she asked me to go in yesterday morning. They didn't run any tests (they may later) but said that it was my gall bladder acting up (or not acting). Nothing to do to ease the pain except change my diet. I am not really excited about that! All meats, eggs, dairy, and anything fried is pretty much out. Are you kidding... I'm pregnant... I LOVE ice cream and all food in general! Hopefully after pregnancy everything will go back to normal!
